You Can Be Next!

An important message permeated the general assembly on January 23rd, 2019, Nobel Laureate Day; “You Can Be Next” . It was an opportunity to celebrate students on the Principal’s Honor Roll, all students who improved in their academic performance, recognise birthdays, recite poetry (A City’s Death By Fire by Sir Derek Walcott), question and answer session with prizes and share information about our two stars – who are gone but not forgotten. They are shining examples – a source of pride and inspiration for us all, especially students!

This year’s theme, for our Nobel Laureate celebrations,  is “Celebrating Excellence: Forty Years On”. The achievements of Sir Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Walcott remains indelibly etched in the hearts and minds of all F.A.P.S staff and students.

F.A.P.S staff welcomed their second group of visitors on January 11, 2019. This time, most of them were from Germany. They enjoyed their welcome in dance and song. The group was given a grand tour of the school, served a delicious local treat and had the pleasure of visiting the source of the fresh local vegetables served to them (school greenhouse). The students enjoyed speaking to their guests and learning about another country.

A Future Glimpse

Occupations from all sectors were on display on November 30th, 2018, as students “Dressed Up” to represent their future job. They had plenty fun guessing the worker that each student portrayed. Although, this activity was a fund raising effort for District One, each child got to set goals for themselves. The future looks bright indeed for our nation!
