The first PTA Meeting of 2019 took place at 4:00 p.m. on 25th January. Parents were addressed by various presenters who shared a wealth of information and words of encouragement.
The Community nurse, Ms. Samuel, spoke about a new HPV vaccine to help combat the high prevalence of cancer. Sergeant Charles, shared some reminders on the rights and responsibilities of parents and children as well as proper conduct and protocol on school grounds and the consequences for ignoring them. Our District Education Officer, Mr. Cirus Cepal, motivated parents and reminded them of the importance of disciplining their children, as opposed to punishing and instilling healthy values and morals from an early age.
The F.A.P.S Parent-Teacher’s Association (PTA) introduced themselves and shared their plans with the general body. The Principal made a few announcements and handed out letters to the proud parents of the students on the Principal’s Honour Roll. They will be spending the day with the principal and treated to lots of fun, goodies and games at no expense to parents.
A very informative session and productive exchange of questions and ideas in the process of addressing the concerns of parents.
It takes the home, school and community working together to make a difference.
