All selected primary school athletes and supporters from District One met on the field of competition today March 14, 2019 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. The day started of with a parade and continued with sprints, long and middle distance races. The crowd could not remain seated during the cheer-leading segment which ended the morning session. This year, Fond Assau participated for the first time and hope to make it an annual activity. In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed the exciting relay races.
After a fun-fill day of sporting action, scores were tallied and the results were announced. The top three schools were Monchy Primary (3rd place – 294 points), Dame Pearlette Primary (2nd Place – 378 points) and Gros Islet Primary (1st Place – 382 points). Fond Assau Primary finished in 5th place with 175 points.
